overclocking

No. lol jk,
I'm running thundeROM, OC'ed to 806 (my phone can't handle any higher), and I have few tweaks for build.prop (stagefright hack, and I enabled hardware acceleration. It's blazing fast and it's stable.

Stagefright Hack,
I changed:
media.stagefright.enable-player=false
media.stagefright.enable-meta=false
media.stagefright.enable-scan=false
media.stagefright.enable-http=false
To
media.stagefright.enable-player=true
media.stagefright.enable-meta=true
media.stagefright.enable-scan=true
media.stagefright.enable-http=true

Hardware Acceleration,
I changed:
debug.sf.hw=0
To
debug.sf.hw=1

Ok so can i get detailed instrucktions as to where i need to go and what exactly i need to do so get this going on my phone? where can i find stagefright how do i load it and then how do i get to the point that i can load this info? AND how do i not turn my proccesor in to a puddle of melted goo? Thx in advance

I didn't have time to run a log i will a little later and ill grab a log.

my kernel, being as I wasnt intending to release it, does scale from 98mhz to 787mhz, but you ran faster than that so I don't see why it would cause a lockup for you.

Hmm.

Hey zefie also happens when I loaded the bad boy on to my phone as well dont know how to get a log out for you to see if bur it jusr stops at android sign shined once then gets into a boot loop I just flashed the other oc kernel and it just started back up as usual ? Canr wait to test it out tho ;-)

The guides are public they are just scatted. OC kernel is sticky. the hw accel hack is on page 3 of this thread.

benchmark app pictures is Quadrant Standard Edition via Market

OC Kernel is not a sticky on this forum. Does the HW ACCEL hack improve real life performance?

I'm running your kernel without issue, zefie. 1366 in quadrent.

Can you update the AF thread with your latest kernels? Dont leave me hanging! :D

You have the current best one. I had to take a nap, last one I built before sleep was worse :P

As for the ones who can't get it to work...

Is my kernel really crashing for you two who tried it or is it just rebuilding Dalvik-cache??

Check adb logcat and look for >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ANDROID START <<<<<<<<< or whatnot.

I win!!! This running zefie kernel at 864 which i don't suggest to many try if the get reboots at that high speed. :)

Ok ThundeROM 1.3 is out, do we have an OC kernel that will work with it? Sry Zefie tried yours it doesn't like me apparently, it spent 6 mins on android screen... it just boot looped.

Ok i guess i'll try again
Update: So loaded the "new Kernel", WTG Zefie, I also got 1366! (@768)

Ahh! I'm jealous! My Optimus S can't handle higher than 806 :(
Is there anything, and I mean anything I can do so I can clock higher? I want 864!

right now, since my kernel is mainly meant for me, the kernel itsel supports 122 - 787mhz during boot.

My custom init script (not included with public kernels) then sets it to 825 for my phone.

So basically your phone will run at 787 while the Android logo is showing. While the logo is still showing, when the screen dims, /init.qcom.post_boot.sh runs which relocks it to 256-600 on a stock ramdisk.

Those getting boot loops probably can't handle 787mhz. There will be a public version eventually that will be more like stock, but with the optimizations.

Don't forget to thank getitnowmarketing aka drellisdee for the 2.6.32.26 source.

Also, I bet if we could bypass the NAND with a class10 SD Card or find some other way to speed up the I/O we could easily surpass 2000. >.>

I wanted UbiFS since people say its faster than yaffs2 but there is some strange crap with the MSM NAND. Seems to be a known issue but no known fix since the suggested patch won't work for me.

We CAN directly access the mtd device but for some reason the only useful thing we can do to it is get info and erase it.

unfortunately not. I have one Optimus that can handle 844mhz, and the one I used only runs 825mhz.

Hey zefie little of topic sorta maybe but I was reading around a while ago that the big companys like htc where thinking of making low end phones like this hopfully but stock as possible then they where going to tey and run the hole os on just sim card like the ones tmobile uses and it was rumored that it was possible did you hear anything like that and would that give you an idea on how to get it programed on the sdcard if you found out how they where going to do it I read alot lol

and a much appreciated thank you to getitnowmarketing aka drellisdee for the 2.6.32.26 source and zefie for hooking us up with the kernel tweaks and anyone else who gave there time up to help work on this its super fast and awsome ;-)

You know that picture i posted of my friends phone? That's without JIT, without stagefright, stock kernel running at 600MHz.

:p

Pretty sure there was going to be a how-to up soon.

you probably meant SD card not SIM, I've seen pics of some of the HTCs with the SD Card that you can't remove (easily). Android supports a protocol called eMMC which allows it to boot from non-nand. getting it to run from SD isn't the problem, would just need a custom RAMdisk.

I think the problem may be the quality of the SD controller in our phone. I tried to partition my SD Card and when i was extracting system tarball to the SD Card the card stopped responding to reads and writes untilI yanked it.
