Whenever I charge my S6 my charger overheats and the phone usually goes to 90-100 degrees and I don't use it while it charges.

Make sure it is turned off and try another outlet.

My phone does this from time to time, sometimes while charging but definitely when I'm using it, nothing really intensive either. I can really feel the heat left of the rear camera and along the lower right edge of the phone even through my hybrid case. Is this something to be concerned about?

I was usin an extension cord that was going bad once. It slowed down charging an the phone got really hot. Could be a wall plug going bad also.

Do you get an overheat message? If not then the phone isn't overheating.

No I don't but I find it weird that my charger is heating up and it slows the fast charging down

You do realize fast charging is not linear in speed but tapers off in speed after a a certain point. It's the reason why the S6 can charge to 20-40% from 0% after only 10 minutes but takes an hour or more to reach 100% charge.

Yes I do, but I charge it from 40-80 throughout and about 20-30 mins later it's only at 48 or 49. I touched the USB and it was hot

My phones (2 s6 edges, both defective and the phone I have now, the regular s6, which is so far so good) all overheated with the fast charger. I noticed the two s6 edges both stopped rotating the screen after charging them. Now I charge my s6 with a regular micro usb charger (1A, not 2A like the fast charger) and no overheating issues anymore

In that case you could have a defective phone, charger, or cable. First make sure that the cable is snug on both the charger side and phone side.

I sometimes get in the 90's while fast charging, but never had any issues

So the phone will tell me if/when it's overheating? I didn't know it would do that without a third-party app installed.

If it doesn't overheat on another outlet, eliminates the outlet as the issue.

Is the charger OEM or compatible? If we try a new one, either OEM or compatible, and no overheating, it could have been a bad charger. If it continues to overheat with the new one, this narrows it down to the device.

Are any of these CPU temperature apps any good? I have three different ones installed and each of them gives me three different readings.

During rapid charge the ACCEL/GYRO burns out in the s6 edge resulting in failure to rotate screen. Has this been an issue in any regular s6?
