I'm running GeeWiz EC01, and now while charging it and using it at the same time it overheats to the point where it won't charge. It gets very, very warm to the touch.

My battery will go instantly from 100% to 30% to 15% to 0%. I'll charge it and it'll jump to 50% but then after a minute or so it'll say that it's dying.

Any suggestions? I wiped battery stats with Root Explorer, CWM, and everything. I ordered a new battery - hopefully the battery is shot.

Have you checked to make sure you don't have a rogue app using all the CPU?

I barely have anything running. Skype, Yahoo Messenger, but I only open them when I want them. It's not overheating anymore; but my battery doesn't last a full 8 hours - maybe 8 - so I leave it on charge all day at work.

Are you rooted with a custom rom? It sounds like your processor is getting forced into full power. There is acpu spy app in the market to make sure nothing is killing your battery.

At work, have you gone into your settings about phone, to see what your signal is. Also turn off data roaming. Those small things could be causing your phone to crank up looking for service and great three phone up and suck battery drain.

New battery fixed it. It lasts a full 10 hours with almost constant usage! I got a dock charger for the old battery and I use it for backup. It lasts only a few hours though. Long enough to charge up the new one again :)
