Owner information not appearing on lock screen after update

Yesterday I took the upgrade to 5.0.1 and I am having trouble getting my owner information to display on the lock screen. Before the upgrade my lock screen displayed a message stating "IF FOUND PLEASE CALL XXX-XXX-XXXX" , this provided the finder with my home phone #. This actually worked for me on a previous phone that fell off my belt clip.

The option to do this still appears under lock screen Settings-Show Information - Additional information - Owner information. Within the Owner information my IF FOUND sentence is shown. I have checked Show Owner Information on lock screen however the message does not appear on the lock screen. I have also checked show all content in the notification section and that is working,, just not my owner info sentence. Has anyone else noticed this and is there a fix?

Thanks

I just looked at my phone and it would seem that the upgrade wiped out my owner information. I was able to re-enter it and now it shows up correctly though much smaller than pre 5.0.

You might try removing the owner information, turning the feature off then back on and re-enter it. No good reason why that would work but it might be worth a try.

Thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested but it did not work but I did figure it out ,,sort of. I discovered that when notifications are displayed on the lock screen the layout of the lock screen is altered and the owner info and other screen info is not displayed. I found that if I clear the notifications from the lock screen I am returned to the original layout and the owner info shows up. For the time being I have stopped sending notifications to the lock screen and owner info is displayed constantly. I'm not sure which way I will end up using the phone. I like the notifications on the lock screen but I also like my owner info in case the phone is lost,, it's too bad I can't seem to have both. Perhaps someone will figure this out. Thanks.

Some notifications can be swiped off the lock screen which will then show the owner information. And some like the weather and system notifications can't be swiped off.
The only solution I have found to date is to turn off the weather app notification and system notifications in the app or in the general notification settings as appropriate.
Not the most elegant solution or even one I would prefer but it does seem to provide the owner information on the lock screen.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the observations about the weather app. As it turns out it was my WeatherUnderground app that was set to display on the lock screen which was taking over things. It was sitting on the screen and it cannot be swiped away. As soon as I disabled that from displaying on the lock screen things got better. My email and messages still cover the owners message but they are easy to swipe away so I can live with that. Still seems like a bit of a step backwards though.

A workaround is to edit your background image the one that is displayed on the lock screen. And using a photo editor add the test (towards the bottom of the screen) Reward if found etc) it works plus your notifications won't block it. Hope this makes sense

Any luck solving this problem? Im So surprised we haven't heard of a solution to this. I don't want to unlock my phone to see my notifications nor do I want notifications that take up major real estate on my lock screen blocking my owner info. Who would have thought this "update" would be wanted by anyone? Please reply if you have a solution. I have heard about using a wallpaper app to post owner info. I'd prefer not to download another app for the work around but it this is the only solution can someone suggest a good wallpaper app (one that doesn't need permissions to seemingly everything on my phone)?
Thanks!!!

Like the post above, this may not be ideal, but it is a work-around. I save whatever image I want to use for my lock screen and open it from Paint or any other image editor that allows me to insert text. I insert owner information at the bottom, adjusting the font and positioning for the cropping that my phone will force me to do when I create my own lock screen image and then save the image. (I prefer to edit from my computer then email the image to my phone.) I call it up on my phone and then save it as my lock screen. On screen lock my notifications appear at the top and my owner information is at the bottom. For me, best of both worlds.

Did you try going to settings,/security/owner info then adding the text IF FOUND CALL XXX-XXX-XXXX Then check show owner info?

Try using different wallpapers for home screen and lock screen. I've noticed when I used the same wallpaper for both home screen and lock screen, the display of owner's info disappears. If it still doesn't work, you can take a screenshot of your favorite wallpaper, edit it, write your info, save it and set is as your wallpaper for lock screen. You can easily do it with a note phone or any phone. Hope it helps.
