OWNERS: What do you LIKE about your Honor 8?

Curious what feels incomplete though.

No tap to wake (I haven't found a setting for it)
Certain music apps not shown under lock.
Odd notification actions.
I'm sure these will be dealt with when a newer version of EMUI shows up.

For me no massive issues however.
I'm not looking for nitpicks anyway.
I wholeheartedly recommend this device to anyone looking for quality and usability who is not locked into the mainstream.
So there :p

It's definitely good to see a lot of happy owners. I'm still on the fence. I just got my Pixel XL and while it's an incredible phone, it's so expensive. Just not sure it's worth the coin right now. So I'm looking at the Honor 8, Axon 7 or maybe even OP3. This phone is REALLY tempting me right now, though.

For me, I crossed off the Axon 7 and op3 because the radios in the honor 8 is better

I've kind of narrowed it down to the Honor 8 or Pixel.

The way I see it is that the honor 8 is a very good bang for the buck but Google spent a lot of time refining the pixel to give it a smooth user experience.

I know people have said the notifications are more stock like in EMUI 5, and the music app thing I could see that being annoying.

I definitely agree there are little tweaks that could be made, but nothing that is a game breaker. More like QoL improvements.

I've been really curious about the SoC on the honor 8.
I'm thinking the Kirin has may have certain limitations and was designed for the forthcoming firmware.

The honor 5X on a Qualcomm SoC has things like tap to wake and a few other goodies the 8 is missing.
Not complaining I'm just wondering.

Smart Key, it is an awesome feature once you get the hang of it and start using it regularly! I wish all rear fingerprint scanners had this feature!

Best little feature.
Got mine set for one press - flashlight
Press hold - screenshot
Dbl press - open camera

I just placed an order today. With it being on sale at Amazon I couldn't pass it up. It'll at least hold me over until I can actually order a Pixel!

Oh I will. I've been trying to switch to Apple for around a year and can't quite get into it for the long haul. Thought this was a good transition back to Android.
Absolutely, this phone is geared towards iPhone users like yourself!

Well I got mine from Amazon today. I've only played with it a little and it seems like a really nice device. Size is great, screen looks nice, and it seems very fast. Unfortunately, it showed up looking like it had been handled before and had a scratch on the back glass so I'm returning it tomorrow. I have ordered another, although this this time from B&H Photo because they have a ton of add ons included for free. I really want to try this phone out for awhile. At least until the Pixel becomes more available, if not longer.

I did test out a few pics and compared them to my 6s Plus. In some situations it looked like the iPhone was better. But in others it was at least equal, if not better, on the Honor 8. Which is impressive coming from a MUCH cheaper device.

Most definitely. The camera is very impressive for the price range

I'm more impressed with the camera than I am with the results I'm seeing from pixels. That lens flare and the grainy low light shots would annoy the hell out of me.
