OWNERS: What do you NOT like about your Honor 8?

Can you long press the notification and disable notification for the app?

No, not completely. I tried that when I first saw the stupid thing pop up in my notification bar. It does allow you to remove the headphones icon from appearing in the notification bar, but it won't allow you to stop it from appearing in the drop-down notification menu. It shows up every time you plug in headphones and then you have to swipe it away. Sigh. :\

Thanks for the suggestion anyway! :)

I'm getting used to the stupid notification/shortcut shade. But I still don't like it. Stock android is better, for many reasons. One example being that you can select a wifi network from the shade itself. In EMUI you can only turn it on/off.

Maybe make a suggestion to honor...they might add it in an update

Not a huge fan of the notifications and lack of ability to quickly delete email from the lockscreen.

I find it a bit hard to hold without a case, but it looks better without one.

Wish it used adoptable storage.

Do you have the 32 or 64?

I have apps, local music from Spotify, etc.

*I* don't need it but it's generally annoying when new Android features aren't supported when they can benefit people.

The camera - Its a little touchy.... Not as much detail as I'd expect and you have to be 100% still or you get some motion blur.

Personally I stick media in the sd card, like gpm downloaded or local music.I haven't found the need to use adoptable storage especially with 64gb internal

Yeah, but when it can just be seamless it is easier, no need to worry about where an app installs or where data is. It is just used the same way.

Except from my understanding of it, there can be issues because of the tendency for SD cards to be quite a bit slower with read/write speeds than the internal storage used by the phone...

Easier is relative though...I do it that way so I can easily move to a new phone.

Also,if your phone crashes..whatever is on the sd card is toast.

You are technically inclined,so it isn't a big deal but I don't recommend adoptable storage to most people because most people don't understand that you can't just take the sd card and put it in a new phone anymore if you did adoptable storage.

Could be true depending on the card.

Any ideas how to have only the contacts with phone numbers show up once Google account is synced? Used to be so easy on prior Huawei devices, this one has me scratching my head. Not a fan of the Keyboard notification popping up every 2 seconds either after choosing the Google Keyboard as my default one.

Darn, the Sapphire Blue looks great but it is slipperier than an eel...

I agree about the keyboard.

I just put my contacts without numbers into a group and hid that group from showing.

Did you try this....
From contacts>Menu>display preferences>customize>Select Google>uncheck ungrouped. Make sure My Contacts is selected as well as other important groups.

I found a slightly different solution. I'll post about that in a bit.

Update:
I did what you suggested which I stumbled upon accidentally but the only difference is that I only have My Contacts selected. Other groups I left unchecked and now I only have phone number contacts showing up.

The only thing I don't like is that there is no WiFi calling. This is the only deal breaker for me. I will be returning the phone tomorrow.
