I also thought he was white..( no offense). But I'm with both of you on this one, the marketing for the rezound before was acceptable, But really "black music month"? Out of all the other months they had to push a promo for it during black music month as if blacks are the only ones that have purchased or are interested in purchasing this phone. I wonder if they will promo a phone during any other months dealing with a particular race?

Btw I too am black, and I didn't know it was black music month either lol.

Personally, I don't understand why you would think there might be some offense taken by Mr. Smith for thinking he was white. Maybe it's the avatar. Or maybe it just never mattered so we assume a mental picture of someone based on what we know best.....ourselves.

I thought for sure he was Mexican.

I knew that the month of June was black music month. I am not surprise that some of you guys were unaware . This is why that have the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans in June.

So, can we talk about this ad for a minute?

1. Does it bother anyone else than only a half year ago, we paid $300 for the Rezound? And now it's down to $80.

2. Huh? "Black Music Month"? I'm fairly certain my black friends don't even know what that is. But of course, this would align perfectly with Verizon's marketing scheme for the Rezound. The only commercials I've ever seen for it were with some black kids walking around town using the Beats ear buds. And apparently, since now that it's Black Music Month, everyone should go buy a phone to hear 'black music' like it should be heard?

I paid $.03 for Three Rezounds at the end of November, so it does not bother me that you can now get them on special for $80.

No, because Black Music Month is June - (Proclaimed by Jimmy Carter in 1979) so you only have two days left to sue.

Actually interesting Googling it and seeing the results. I did not know about the celebration - Great time to honor and enjoy many of the great African American musicians.

It's funny. Until this thread, I never even thought about it. It never occurred to me to even wonder whether someone was black, white, orange or purple. Well, except for Wanda - for a while I had you pegged as a tall blonde in high heels who knew Android inside and out... OK, I admit, that's my hangup and I don't get out much... LOL

And Mr Smith, that pic of you is great. But honestly, even if you were still using it as an avatar I wouldn't necessarily jump to any conclusions - I mean we all don't look like our avatars, do we? I only slightly resemble mine after a really, really rough night...

All kidding aside, I'd be pissed if I paid the original 300 for this.

Last I knew this is the way technology works. You buy a gadget @ Price A and 6 mos down the road same gadget is half the original price or less. Getting po'd is a waste of time and energy. If you're gonna have gadgets may as well just accept this as fact and save your anger for something really important.
