I have issues with my 4 months old Huawei P10 lite mobile phone, for no obvious reason device has been bent (phone still works, screen works, case not broken) so I sent it to local authorized service and they said it was mechanical issue due overheating and then battery bent back case, now as I see it, this was not my mistake however, service does not accept warranty and ask for repair charge. Could someone give me some advice, is this a usual Huawei response for this kind of issues or this could be service trying to avoid warranty?

thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! Here's the Huawei warranty: https://consumer.huawei.com/us/support/warranty-policy/. It's a bit contradictory. On the one hand, it says the warranty covers "c) Battery & charger: a period of 12 months from the date of purchase." On the other hand, it says it doesn't cover "i) Consumable parts, such as batteries, unless damage has occurred due to a defect in Huawei materials and workmanship." So the key question here is how the service center determined that the battery failure was not due to a defect in Huawei materials and workmanship. I would focus on that when you talk to them again.

Not bad advice at all, since Huawei customer care just replied - "authorized service is the only place where they can determine malfunction reason, since customer already did that and customer dont agree, customer has right to choose another authorized service for a second expert evaluation" .. could be a long shot, but I'll do that.

thanks!
