Been using an honor 8 for 18 months and love it. My carrier Roger's is offering me a deal on the p20 pro. Zero tab but I lose my grandfathered $45 month unlimited 5gb plan and have to increase monthly to $70. So over 2 years phone will cost me $500. Seems like a good deal but only if I am happy with the phone.

If I take the deal and don't like the phone and return it I am stuck with the $70 plan.

So users will I like this phone moving from my honor 8? One thing I know I will miss is the rear fingerprint sensor.

I could order a phone pay full price try it out and return but shipping is 3 to 5 days and the deal may be gone.

In my opinion that's kind of a tough one to answer since you never mentioned what you are looking for in a phone (likes/dislikes). P20 Pro is considerably larger/heavier (like/dislike), no dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack (like/dislike), no expandable storage (like/dislike), Amoled display vs IPS (like/dislike), etc. Think you'd be best off taking a trip over to GSMARENA and do a comparison of the two to see if there's anything on the P20 Pro that would make it a stopper.

I love the P20 Pro but I'd keep that grandfathered data plan and buy a P20 Pro or Mate 20 Pro outright. You'd save more $ in the long run.

I got the p20 pro at launch and it's been great to me so far. I did however cancel my bell account and started with public mobile. Same service. Way cheaper. You are probably best keeping your cheap plan. Service contracts here are getting worse and worse, and they will still find a way to charge you overages
