I think you're the only one that can answer that question. The P20P has a lot going for it such as camera and battery life. EMUI is different than Samsung but only you know which one you prefer. I use a launcher so I don't really have an opinion either way.

Took the plunge have to wait 2 weeks though as on back order with operator..got a very very good deal so hard not to at least try it out...if it's not good I can return it.

Was looking for opinions of people who switched from samsung...never mind I'll figure it out

Own the GS7 Edge and switched to the P20 Pro, sort of as still own both and neither are my actual daily driver. P20 Pro's camera was one of the main reasons as well as a phone "without" a curved display as they are definitely not my thing as we found out. Price was reasonable too at the time of purchase.

EMUI is different yet we adapted to it fine. A few tweaks to camera settings and we became an instant fan, night shots are pretty amazing as is the X3-X5 zoom. It's 4000mAh battery was another area which drew me in. Display is perfectly sufficient for my needs having no gripes at all with it - our Sammy's (owned the GS7 too) were left at their downsampled resolution of 1080p anyway. Face detection to unlock is super fast and consistent, liking that. Phone itself is very peppy yet consistency trumps speed for me (to a degree), so far no complaints in that department.

Overall real happy with the P20 Pro, no maybe not perfect in every aspect but then what is.

I had a p20 pro a while back. I got a mate rs bc that was essentially a s9 plus with the Huawei camera. I wasn't really happy with that for the price so I got a note 9. I like the note 9 I do but the p20 pro keeps calling me back. I may keep the note 9 but I'm getting another p20 pro. I'm getting the twilight color this time bc it looks dope.
