I'm a member over there as well and have been following the thread since it started. I also follow him on Twitter, and that is what I was referring to. I've read the thread. I'm referring to the fact that it's hypocritical to write a hack, then when the #$*@ hits the fan, say "well it was up to users to decide it was wrong." This was on Twitter right after he made the post at MDW.
Like I said, I get it, hypocrisy aside. I'm not even saying he wasn't trying to protect the community by telling them to uninstall the hack. I have a lot of respect for P3 - I think you might be misreading my intentions. But I don't want anyone to delude themselves either; by going on and on and ON suddenly about how tethering is theft despite having written this hack conveniently when all this hysteria is coming out, he is also covering his own ass.
I know what he says about the hack and TOS violations. That's why I said in my above post, you either believe in something or you don't. If you believe something is wrong, then you don't do it. Not as proof of concept, not at all. You especially don't do it and then call other people out afterward for using it.
That said, I agree with you - I am sick of people not taking responsibility. We are adults. We choose what we do with our own things, and need to accept the consequences of our actions. If we decide to ignore the warnings and illegally tether anyway, we better shut our mouths when we get hit with the hammer later. Im just saying, that was never my issue. The attitude on Twitter was bothering me.
Mostly, I'm irritated by the panic. Everyone needs to calm down x1000.
