P8Lite New Phone with 0 battery

Hello everyone
I just got a Huawei p8 lite as a gift for a family member and I'm trying to set it up.
When I opened the box the phone came with 0 battery, which has never happened with any of my previous phones.
Is this a normal thing? I never bought anything from Huawei so I'm a bit worried

Return it for a replacement. It's almost certainly a phone that was returned during the return period after the owner let the battery die. That will affect its eventual life.
