P9 software/firmware on honor8?

Anyone know if it's possible to flash the p9 firmware into an honor 8? The p9's camera firmware is better and truly leverages the dual cameras, while the honor only uses the second camera in low light (due to leica licensing constraint I'd imagine).

Even if it's only the camera firmware that can be flashed, that would be awesome.

Do you have confirmation of that from somewhere? Everywhere I have seen, AC included says that the camera experiences are virtually identical with the Honor missing some settings in the camera app but that's it.

Nope. Lookup Juan Bagnell's review of the Honor 8, he confirms it. It was known even before in a few other reviews.

Simple test: close one of the lenses with your hand and take a photo. The P9 won't let you take the photo, the Honor 8 would.

Not yet but I would imagine someone would try, if the demand is high enough
