Guys, pay the $1.50 for Package Disabler on the play store, and start going to town disabling things you don't need. Their " Disable all bloatware " option is too aggressive, and you'll have to re-enable several things, but once I was done, I regularly had 1 GB free of RAM and the phone now runs like a well oiled machine! Huge difference. No more lag loading programs, no more sluggishness that made me wonder why my s5 performed better. Game changer!

Interesting, but I'm curious--does it disable things that you can also disable in the App Manager, or does it do things that you can't otherwise do in the stock menu?

This does WAY more than disable just the at&t apps, etc. This goes deeper into the phone. I disabled lots of unneeded services too. Don't judge unless you've tried it out. The free version let's you disable around ten things, I ended up disabling about 50 things.

Also, you MIGHT need to re-enable everything before a system update, but you can export your settings, and import them back after the system update.

Can you give us a few examples of some of the deeper stuff you can disable? It's intriguing that you can do this without rooting. Of course, one must be cautious about the things you disable, in case it causes problems--is there any easy way to keep track of it using the app?

And that's just down to the M's

It's a great app, I can finally disable Emergency Alerts, My Magazine, Flipboard and Kids Mode

After I disabled all the magenta-colored "unnecessary" services PD identified, I had an intermittent issue of my Samsung clear case not shutting down the screen when closing. When I re-enabled all the "bloatware" it was fine. Not a major problem but it's a nice feature. And the Samsung account service is bloatware??
