Pages and pages of widgets.. can I hide or delete them?

I have only had my S3 a few weeks but seem to have acquired a lot of widgets in addition to the ones preinstalled. I have several paged of them looking all untidy!
Is there any way I can
a) hide them
b) remove the preinstalled ones I don't want (like about 4 different clocke faces)

Welcome to the forums!

All of your widgets are on your homescreens? Or are they just the icons of your apps? When you download a new app, it automatically goes to the home screen.

A couple are but mostly I mean when you touch the apps/widget icon and you can see them all, including the ones I'm not using..they are all just piling up!!!

You can disable in settings-application manager. Swipe to all apps and scroll down to app.
Tap on widget and click disable
