Pairing of moto 360 gen 2 with moto x4

[Android Central Question]

My Moto 360 2nd gen is not pairing with newly bought Moto x4 running Oreo. Is there any way to pair up these 2 devices ? Or is it something like unless google pushes Oreo update to Moto 360 2nd gen it's not gonna pair up..???

Are you using the Android Wear app to connect the watch?

For starters you need to run android wear on the phone. Thats the only way to pair them up.
How well AW runs on Oreo with that device would be anyones guess though. My understanding is that AW is supposed to be compatible with all somewhat recent versions of Android.

I have both. No problems pairing whatsoever.
