Palm swipe to capture

Mine absolutely does not work either. What gives?

Wonder if having the Whitestone Dome glass installed has anything to do with it?

I've got a Whitestone protector and have just taken like 5 in a row without issue.

OP and others having issues who know "the knack" have you tried adjusting your touch sensitivity?

Went into Recovery Mode, cleared the cache, rebooted the device, and it worked for me ONCE. Tried it again, didn't work! Handed it to my friend he did it successfully like 10 times in a row. ABSOLUTELY BIZARRE. My phone likes his hand better, I guess?! I've managed to get it to work only a handful of times. Extremely intermittent to the point of basically being useless. My technique is spot on (or obviously not) so I'm even more perplexed now. So, I can't say necessarily that there's something wrong with my device because my friend is able to do it each time without fail.

Crazy.

Just tried to do it on my friend's S21 Ultra and I couldn't do it on his phone either. All that's happening is, I'm bringing up the Google Discover feed.

It's like something is wrong with my hand. I have some dryness/irritation on the side of my palm, so it isn't completely smooth ... but I can't imagine that would interfere (?).

I just figured it out. If you literally touch the screen as your sliding the edge of your palm from left to right it works.
Maybe this is because I have the Whitestone Dome glass installed.

Give that a try.

Ok, I'm convinced it's the state of my hands. Seems to be working with my left hand because my left hand is completely smooth and free of any dryness/irritation. I don't think the phone screen recognizes the swipe movement unless your skin is totally smooth. That sounds kinda ridiculous, but I can see where this kind of thing could be really finicky - kind of like if your fingerprint finger is messed up, the reader would have trouble getting a reading.

So ..... the answer? Lotion ....... apparently.

I found the palm swipe fails a lot on my S21+ . I suspect some sites and apps may not allow screen shots. Had similar problems with my S9+ but not as bad.
