Parental Controls

OK, so my teenager was good and took good care of her old crappy phone for 2 years. As a reward she now has a shiny new Samsung Continuum. The Verizon salesman conveniently failed to mention that their parental controls feature doesn't apply to "smart" phones.

So, now I'm searching for an app that will give me those controls. Does one exist? I'm looking to restrict the hours that the phone can be used.

NetNanny has a mobile application that works on android. I thought it was OK when we tried it in December.
I believe they still offer a 30-day trial.

is there an app to block the use of the telephone like from 9pm to 9am time restriction

You can put any app you want on a phone but any kid with half a brain can uninstall/freeze/stop any app you install.. Sometimes good ol parenting and trust is the only thing you can rely on lol

The app you're looking for is "MyMobileWatchdog" The website is My Mobile Watchdog

It allows you to lock, unlock and temporarily unlock individual apps. It allows you to set hours that the phone will function. It also allows you to see all texts and websites your child visits.

It is $10/month, but for the added security in todays world, while still alowing children the freedom to use a smart phone, this is a great program.

If they want to use a locked app, they can text or call you. you then log into the website, or open the parental app, and unlock the app. After an amount of time (1 hour? can't remember) the app locks back down. Nice way to allow youtube, but prevent them from being on it at school or when they should be doing homework, etc.
