Password Every Day? Turn this off?

So I have become super annoyed by a tiny thing, which is the requirement to put in my password every morning when I first check my phone, or after not using it for at least 4 hours. I have face unlock set as well as fingerprint, but must put in the password every single morning. I tapped on the little more info one morning before I typed in my password, and it stated this was a security feature when using biometrics (face or fingerprint) on your phone. This was definitely not a requirement on my s10, so I'm guessing this is a new Samsung OneUI requirement?

Anybody know if this can be disabled?

My S20 doesn't ask for this every 4 hours. It asks for the password every few days, just like my previous Samsung devices. You haven't been restarting your device, have you? It generally requires password or pattern after a restart.

it explains everything in about unlocking with biometrics in settings. if you want to use face unlock then yes this is the way it is. You can turn off face unlock and use just fingerprint then you will only have to do it every 72 hours. Its the way it is. I suppose you could maybe root your phone and find something else to run it, I don't know. Its a small inconvenience to me, i'm not going to try and bypass it.

so you don't use face unlocking

I posted on the other thread, face look every 24 hours, fingerprint every 72 hours. Its in disclaimer in security and biometric section.

Sooo, no one answered the original question, can this be bypassed? The requirement to enter password pops at the most inopportune times. I want to pull the trigger on a new Note 20 Ultra. I want the unlocked version so I hope this can be bypassed. Also, are there any problems with buying an unlocked phone rather than the in my case) Verizon phone?

Probably not, unless you're willing to disable all of the screen security features. I never used to have any password, passcode or anything like that on my phone. I only started doing it, because my employer requires it if you're going to have work email installed.

Ah no wonder. I have FP and Face Recognition active and after 4 hours of being idle it will ask me to enter my pin... 72 hours vs 4 hours is kinda far though.

It was answered, Samsung requires the pin/password after 4 hours because Face unlock isn't very secure. It can be fooled by a photo, video, or someone who looks similar.

Can't be bypass , this android security thing .
You should be fine on the unlocked version with Verizon.

Thanks for the speedy reply Mustang7757! Do you own a Mustang?

Ok, so Samsung knows best for our security. :( Wondering, with an unlocked phone what would it take, for someone who knows how, to strip or disable the code for this stupid feature. Of course, then every update would require the patch to be reinstalled. I guess I am about ready to turn off the lock function, since I live on a farm and rarely go out.

Nice feature Android/Google... NOT!!!!

I've found workaround, i have galaxy watch 4 but it can be anything Bluetooth, just add your companion service in Smart Lock and never bother about password
