Password upon first boot?

I just got this thing and when I booted it up it is asking me for a password... wtf? Could it be this was a product someone returned and they threw it back on the shelves?

Yah, I would think so. First thing you should see is your language prefernce. A password is bad. Definatly return.

I was able to hard-reset it and got the regular boot screen etc.

The way it was packaged it doesn't seem like anyone farted around with it or returned it (but not days who really knows).

I only have a 14 day return policy, I'm wondering if I should just exchange this one for a different one or if it was just some manufacturer glitch.
