patience lost today

I threw mine once, but it was at my fluffy bed. That frustration that prompted me to throw it also prompted me to flash a ROM and new radios.

It's all happy pink unicorns now ;)

Edit: it was also dmmarck and 2defmouze, I was on the edge and they helped me jump. I tried to hold out, but I couldn't resist any longer. "Resistance is futile."

You need to visit the darkside/the ROMS forum ;). Especially the Chatter thread and my threads lol

Also, I threw it once--but it was in an Otterbox and a sock and it was a controlled toss. No damage obviously, b/c unlike some of you miscreants, I go OCD on my protection lol

There isnt one day that goes by that i have to find all the patience within me so that i dont smash this POS nexus phone to a million bits. I'm so sick of the data drops, especially at critical times during the day, where i really really need it to just work for my business. I cant imagine how awesome it must have felt to throw it into the wall, LOL.

Try it and report back ;)

im at the point of breaking my gnex in half right now.

i left it off for a few hrs. i turned it back on. its been super laggy and slow. especially when im sending texts. it takes forever to load the messages and for me to type. there is no other app running in the background and it keeps lagging, very very frustrating.

Flash a custom rom on that suckah.... :D

If you're experiencing problems, try doing something to aleviate it. I'm not saying installing custom software is gonna fix it but at least you tried.
I have a custom rom on my phone, and have never experienced what you're going through. You probably tell me but the phone should just work without doing all that flashing rom mumbo jumbo and you're right it should. But in your case it isn't so whats the harm?
The harm may be you break (brick) your phone, but if you read up and follow instructions this phone is real near impossible to brick.
I am not saying you should do it, just offering a possible solution if you so choose.

/me puts on trusty flamesuit :)

And plus, not to piggyback off of my esteemed colleague, but truly bricking your phone is very, very, very rare. Softbricking, not so much. If the mother turns on, it's not really bricked ;).

im not sure how to and if i wanna go that route. im computer savvy so its not a matter of anything being a foreign language to me... i just never had the desire to do so. i knw i can find instructions galore on the forums and google...hah how ironic, use google to infiltrate a google device.

if anything, ive noticed the phone is hotter than usual and im not doing anything with it. its just sitting there and its hot. im not charging it either. i wonder if thats a factor

Yah I have heard reports of heat issues, so its not isolated.
I'm not going to push you or anyone into doing stuff to their expensive phone that you don't feel comfortable with so just do what you feel you must be it get a replacement or install some different software. If you are inclined, there are some excellent resources in the rooting section right here...no need for google.

I will say this though, you would be stunned/amazed with what a top custom rom can do and the amount of tweaks and adjustments the rom is capable of.

Good luck finding a solution.

It'll heat up; it's a dual core phone, and the 4G/LTE has its own processor.

Doing stuff while charging? Heat.

Doing processor intensive stuff (like looking/downloading stuff)? Heat.

Excessive browsing with picture/video heavy stuff? Heat.

This is the only comment that slightly disturbed me more than the anger management nominees.

I may need a push like this at some point as well.

It really isn't bad at all. Unlocking, rooting, and flashing is a painless process. dmmarck and 2defmouze and several others on the rom board are more than willing to help out and answer questions. Just don't listen to me, because my sense of humor doesn't always come across in print :-[

Come one, come all, come enjoy the power of your Galaxy Nexus at full tilt!

I may need a push like this at some point as well.

Couple things that might sway you:

I have never heard anyone say "Oh drat, why did I root and flash roms, I want to go back to stock"
To a man, I have heard it many many times, "Why the hell did I wait so long to do this stuff"

Sounds like I'm pushing but ultimately you are the one to decide what to do, no matter what I or anyone says.
And to the naysayers, bash me all you want....its my opinion and you should see the rootzwiki forum. I don't know what the membership figures are but suffice to say its HUGE and every person there does the flashing/rooting/rom stuff daily.

And sorry this is going way off topic...if any of you like to just shoot the breeze about this stuff, come into the rooting section. We gots a "shoot the breeze" thread and you can hang out and talk rooting or anything you like. :)

Haha, I have been a flashaholic in the past. This is the only phone I've had that I didn't root straight away. Shoot, before Android I was tweaking the registry in my Windows Mobile phones O_o

This is my first "Google Experience Device" and I thought I could get away from constantly setting the phone back up all the time because I keep flashing stuff, lol.

Who am I kidding.... I know it'll come back to that.

I'll probably see you in there at some point. I usually get my hax0r fix at rootz or xda, but I post more often over here.

Been playing around with undervolting my kernel, but haven't found the sweet spot between battery life and stability yet. Yet ;)

I'm with you guys. Thanks for the nudge to get me back into it, I think ;p

Alleviate it by getting a Razr Maxx and don't look back:-)

Ever have one of those days where your phone craps out so much you want to throw it against the wall?

Well, today was the day for me. GPS craping out, phone signal non existent and Internet not working was what threw me over the edge. I threw that little bastard at the wall and it was so invigorating. I have the otter box on it and it all came apart. I walked over and picked up all the pieces and to my amazement nothing was broken. I put everything back together and put it down for awhile so I could cool down. I started the phone back up and again to my amazement everything is running perfectly for the past 2hrs so far. So, for all of you that get to the same point of frustration and feel the need to get out some aggression, then have at it.
I think I found a new way to fix all the bugs this Galaxy nexus has.

With an otter box defender you can throw your phone against the wall all you want, with no damage. Lord knows I do it to my $650 phone all the time. j/k. Anger management seems like a better investment.

Unfortunately, the RAZR can't do half of what this can do rooted/flashed ;).

Of course, it is faster, but its Game Boy Color screen takes a bit less power to run ;).

All in good fun, MAXX is a great device.
