They are spot on with the overheating issues. Mine got extremely hot doing short bursts of any media. So much so that it was unuseable . I returned it because that's unacceptable in a flagship phone of this price.

Any flagship phone can be a dud. Sorry, it sounds like you got a bad one.

There were no Verizon apps installed on the 4s,5s,and 6p. Although I haven't had hands on experience with the other Verizon iPhone, I am pretty sure that the same is true. Iirc The Verizon Nexus 6 didn't have any Verizon apps either.

While I have the international model -- I have seen the T-Mobile version. I can agree it seems the same pretty much.

I don't have a Verizon phone. It's been mentioned - the NFL app. That's commercial app - not carrier bloatware or manufacture bloatware - a whole other category. I don't think all carriers include that category.

They do it because they are partners with the NFL... So it is the carrier pushing it onto the phone (see below).

I have had no issues with heat, keep in mind I don't play many games at all on the phone. But I do stream media (music and tv/movies) but no heating problems doing that.

Phone has been fine, use it everyday and have no problems hearing the other person or them hearing me. I do not have advanced calling (HD Voice and video calling) active.

I have the international version, also known as the H815.

I have none of the issues described in the article.

This is also part of the reason why each and every Android phone in my house is a non-carrier-branded model.
