While they don't outright slam it, they do give it a pretty critical critique!

Samsung Infuse 4G SGH-I997 (AT&T) Review & Rating | PCMag.com

I do take issue with this statement: "The Infuse 4G is almost too big to hold up to your head and make calls with."

Just watch, this guy will be eating his words when 4.5" becomes the *new* 4.0"/4.3"...
We're already seeing other carriers and manufacturers jumping on the 4.5" bandwagon... T-Mobile's Hercules, and the new (leaked) HTC (forget the name) on AT&T.

"The Apple iPhone 4 ($199, 4.5 stars) lacks the Infuse 4G's larger screen and free voice navigation, but it has a smoother, more reliable OS, and the world's best third-party app selection. The HTC Inspire 4G ($99.99, 4 stars) is now $100 cheaper, it's a better voice phone, it's made of classier materials and it features HTC's better Sense UI interface."
almost sounds biased.

lol. PC Mag are haters. The phone is to big to hold up to your ear? Wonder what will be said when all the phones in the future are like that. Bigger is better and they know it. And so do the millions of subscribers out there that feen for these devices.

I actually like using it as a phone. It feels more natural to me than my iPhone 4 did against my head. Of course I have big hands so that helps. Also proximity sensor works way better on the infuse!

Haters indeed! I think Nick's review (posted on AndroidCentral) is more thorough, unbiased, well researched, and logical than PCMag.com's. I don't agree with most of PCMag's review, but wanted to share it with you guys, as it's one of most recent that I've come across.

Well you were big into the Dell Streak too, so bigger is better would fit. I think the Infuse is perfect size... not 4 not 5, but just right.

Very true indeed. More then likely because this is an Android World and PC Mag should just be sticking with PCs lol.

This is very true. I agree indeed. Of course until they come out with a 4.8" display. Imagine if Samsung will make an Android Phone like that and it will have almost No border like that new TV they got out. That would be INSANE!

This is my first post on the site. I read every day but refrain from posting. Here we go... I truly wish there were reviewers that took into account that every person is not a techy (myself not included). There are a lot of people that visit various sites to research and determine which phone may be worth their money. I think reviewers get too caught up in tech speak and confuse the lay person. There are a plethora of forums to visit to get basic information, but I feel reviewers should take into consideration the lay person.

Most people are not going to be able to distinguish dual core from single core, 1Ghz to 1.2 Ghz, etc... Can the phone perform speedy and without lag in day to day operation? Dual core is great for those that play games and really squeeze every ounce out of their phones. To discount or drop a score on a phone because it is not dual core is senseless in my opinion. The Samsung Infuse is a hell of a phone. The GS2 out specs it but will the average person see a difference in day to day activity. The X2 upgraded its specs and screen and people are not happy. Step back and realize how quickly the phones are being manufactured with increased specs. It doesn't always translate to a better experience for those purchasing the phone.

I talked to an AT&T rep that was trying to convince me to wait for the GS2. Why wait for one phone when another one is right down the pipeline. Once again, it depends on your usage of the product. I don't play games. I watch videos, browse the net, and use all of the communication tools on the device. The 1.2 Ghz processor is more than enough power to handle these activities. I guess I'm ranting because reps don't take the time to know the customer and push them to a product of their interest and not necessarily what may be best for the customer. How many Infuses will not be sold due to someone telling them to hold off for another device? If the phone is too big for some, I can understand this point. To discount this phone due to its specs is an outright shame in my opinion.

@Terrigno... I'm located in your area. What's your opinion after a few days with the device? I haven't had one issue and I'm glad I made the purchase.

I have found that the employees at retailers (AT&T, Best Buy, Costco, you name it) are not the most informative, reliable, forthcoming, or hell, even trustworthy! I'm sure you -- through your lurking on this forum -- have learned more about this phone than 95% of those slanging it. These guys work there because it's a job. We spend our free time on these boards and sites because it's an interest or even a passion. I'm not saying that all cell phone/electronics salespeople are incapable of providing some good info; just that, in my experience, better to come to a place like this for the real-down.

The Infuse is a great phone. It is FAST as hell -- "snappy" is the word being thrown around. We should eventually get Gingerbread (if that's another reason you are enticed by the GS2) and even Ice Cream Sandwich.

Hopefully Terrigno will chime in as well, as I know you are seeking his opinion.

I appreciate your reply as well. I just hope the phone isn't overlooked because techies don't feel it is good enough since it is not the GS2.

It seems out of character for a sales rep to tell you to wait for something that's in the pipe. It results in lost sales and besides, there's always something better somewhere in the pipe.

I agree.
