Pdanet not working

i've trying to use pdanet..i've really never had any problems until this recent update..and since rooting my phone..this is the only program i've been able to work and figure out..but it keeps giving me error messages now..first it was giving me socket error..i could quickly connect..but then it was giving me a htc sync error..and from the website they want me to uninstall that..well id ont know how to do that..and not sure its wise...beings its part of the phone..still is through my root..i'm not sure what to do..and i'm getting really frustrated..any help would be greatly appreciated! thanks

I've had those problems before and after I rooted my Eris. I'll get socket errors, sync errors and other crap - even not recognizing my USB device. I just disconnect and reconnect until it goes, and on occassion I've had to restart my phone. I don't know what it is. I'm actually going to try using another tether app this evening and see if it won't be more reliable on every level.

That's the best advice I can give you, to your question. Disconnect the USB from the phone, reconnect, and try again. Crude, but mostly effective.

oh i've tried that as well...and hasnt worked..or it will for a very short time..then im doing it all over again...i'm glad i'm not the only one with this problem.

i've also tried other programs but i cant get any of them to work..or i can get them to work on one end..but the other end it doesnt show up...

I downloaded Easy Tether tonight and have been online for almost 2 hours with no problems. You might want to give that one a try.

UPDATE: I was online through Easy Tether for for about 5 hours and only got booted once. Far better than I was running with PDANet. And it seemed faster too. I think I'm going to stick with this Easy Tether.
