Ok, got to work this morning fired up my laptop and tethered to my Droid X so I could take care of a couple of personal items. Fired up PDANET, started the service on my laptop, fired up explorer and I get a capture screen for VZW self provisioning site saying that I need to pay $15 or $20 for tethering.

I thought to my self this is new if they can sense the difference between phone traffic and tethered traffic? I thought this was the point to PDANET was that they couldn't tell the difference.

Anyone else experiencing this issue or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks

I haven't had any problems like that yet with PDA. Did have the wireless 3G Hotspot but it was sporadic at best so I took it off.

Update: I put EasyTether on this morning and it works fine. I thought PDANET was free as long as not accessing HTTPS (Secure) sites?

Any thoughts let me know please.

I just tested the free pdanet and it works fine for me

**sorry this was on the D1. not sure it that makes a difference**

I use pdanet EVERYday, either for my laptop or desktops at home. It's the only way I can access the net in my rural area. I liked the program so much I bought the full version, which has been just updated and have never had any problems.
It's so easy, my wife can do it
:D
