PdaNet Tablet Beta

Greetings to all... my intro being done, i'll give a quick shout to the people in this thread.

i got my samsung nexus s to BT tether with PdaNet tablet (beta, v1.0.6 android v2.3.7) to my acer a500 running the same pdanet version, android v3.2

connect following the instructions above (i dont think i need to re-type them here), then as mentioned, open the android browser, ignore the "no internet connection" and ta-da! surf your interwebs...

again, many thanks to this thread, and forum.

PS. the phone i have is a sprint phone. sprint has this apk blocked, but i was able to get the apk from the tablet and emailed it to myself and installed from the phones browser and my email account.

good luck, and if anyone needs the PdaNet Tablet v1.0.6 shoot me a PM here or email should be in my profile

Suggestions ideas?

OK....I think I just figured out how to do it. At least, it is working for me at the moment. I have the latest pdanet (3.02) on my computer, and when I looked at all the files in the folder on my C drive, I noticed this file:PdaNetTablet.apk and PdaNetTablet.bat. So, I uninstalled pdanet on my Sprint android phone (HTC Hero), connected my phone to the computer and mounted as a disk drive. I then copied the 2 files to my SD card, and then unmounted/disconnected my phone from the computer.

I then used an apk installer app ( I used Easy Installer) to install PdaNetTablet onto my phone. I can now run in the server mode on my phone. I will say that it takes a few attempts to get it paired and then connected to the internet, but it worked. It did close a few times, but I can live with that for the moment. Hope this works for you.

Here are the steps I followed to do this (makes it a little more clear, I hope.)

1. Install pdanet tablet from the market on your tablet.
2. Uninstall pdanet usb application from your phone. (skip if you don't have this on your phone)
3. Go to junefabrics.com and install pdanet android 3.02 onto a PC.
4. Locate the file folder for the above file and find the files PdaNetTablet.apk and PdaNetTablet.bat
5. Connect phone to PC and connect as "disk drive"
6. Copy the 2 files listed above over to the SD card on your phone.
7. Disconnect phone from computer.
8. Use application installer program to install PdaNetTablet.

Bytes: 0/0
Activities: 0/0

Please believe me I have been trying anything and everything for several days now, PLEASE HELP.:-[

phone = Motorola Photon
tablet= Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0

I've been struggling with the same exact problem. Using PdaNet Tablet on both the Prime and EVO 4G, I can pair the devices but there is not connectivity.I have also tried pairing an Epic with the Prime with the same exact results. Both phones are on the Sprint network. I've spent two days reading anything i can find on PdaNet Tablet without any luck. Do not want to root my phone if at all possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had to pair/unpair and enable pdanet several times before it finally started tethering, but it finally does connect. Other than that, I don't have any more helpful info.
