New to android and tether, never did it on my BB. Just found this app and was wondering if I used it I would get the boot from vzw. I plan on watching a movie or 2 on netflix through this on my pc. thanks

PDANet does a good job of making them think it's the phone that's using all the data. That said, watching a couple of movies will use alot of bandwidth, and you'll likely end up using up your 5 GB cap quickly. Be careful.

yep, it will certainly violate the ToS, but they only raise an eyebrow if you start going crazy with the bandwidth. i cant imagine that streaming movies would be an incredibly pleasant experience on 3g though.

I've been using PDANet since Nov and have had no problems, hiccups or billing issues. Like Terpitude said (and you gotta listen to ACC folks), just don't go nuts with it. Really, all I'm doing with PDANet is the same thing I could do through my phone, and often do, but with a bigger keyboard and monitor - that's it. I download some music through Limewire, but then I do the same on my phone through Amazon. I can watch YouTube on both. Really - what's the difference? I wouldn't worry a bit about it.

I use wireless tether and I use well over 8-10gb a month. I have never been flagged, called or had service interruption. There is NO 5GB limit, but YES you are not allowed to do this. If you do not feel comfortable doing this then buy an aircard.

It is against the TOS, but there is no 5gb cap to worry about, but excessive usage does get looked at.

Basically, if you use it, don't go crazy with it. DON'T use your phone as a primary internet connection for your computer if you're a heavy consumer. That's not what it's intended for. But if you want to have it so that you can access data in a pinch, or if you need to do some emailing of documents while on vacation and want a bigger screen to work on, it's not a bad thing to have imo. Verizon knows it exists, but they seem to tolerate it as long as people arn't stupid with it.
