How is the stock Fire PDF reader?

Since 80% of my Fire's use will be PDF technical "white papers", I'd like to know if I can go landscape, add notes/highlights and sync them the way you can with e-books..

I unpacked my Fire last night, put the first PDF on it 5 minutes ago.

The reader seems fine. It is easy to adjust the font size with the squeeze and spread gestures; it's easy to page through the doc. As expected, portrait and landscape modes switch simply by reorienting the device.

The Fire's screen has an excellent resolution.

The reader does not adjust lines to fit the width of the screen, but I believe doing so would require a format other than PDF (or a new PDF).

The stock PDF is just OK. So far I've found that the QuickOffice pdf reader (which was free on amazon a couple days back) has a feature to allow you to scale the PDF text. This has made it more usuable then zooming and trying to fit to page
