People/Contacts app crashing

First off I'm rooted running the stock rom. Everytime I try to add a new contact either by going to the app or from recent calls I get a force close on the app. I can't add any new contacts at all... I've rebooted several times and have no clue what the issue could be. Thanks in advance for any help

Try going to Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications. Find Contacts Storage, choose Clear Data. Then let it resync with Google. If the problem persists, hard reset.

Just tried that and it crashed when I tried to add a new contact. Will try the hard reset.
