People who have their Note 4's, could you give a quick finger print sensor review

Beats having to type in a password but the accuracy is so so. No question Apple has this technology down pat and has a patent on it so no one else can use it. If there's one really distinct advantage to the iPhone it's the fingerprint scanner.

The huawei mate 7 is said to be awesome as well with their fingerprint scanner. I hate the one on my note 4 and disabled it. Came from the iPhone 6 which worked 100% of the time.

I have never been able to get the fingerprint scanner to work well enough to actually use. It doesn't record them well when registering and once finally registered it doesn't ever recognize the registered fingerprints. So for me it is a useless feature. And now that a first court has said that police can force you to open a fingerprint locked device but not password or pin locked devices I would never use a fingerprint to secure anything.

When I first used the fingerprint scanner, I couldn't get the phone to unlock properly. But after reading the directions on how too swipe, I have become very accurate in unlocking my phone. I never have any issues.

i stopped using it because as others have mentioned, you have to 'pay attention' when you do it - defeats the purpose of convenience for me. the iphone's implementation is way better (also have 6+). Also, if you have your note 4 in case with a pronounced 'lip' - its even harder

Have used the scanner since day one... On the rare occasion I have to swipe more than once... But that's usually down to damp finger from rain or after shower etc. I think it's accurate and better than a password. Not once considered it a pain in the backside and turned it off.

You are fortunate and don't seem to have the average experience with the scanner. This morning I switched the S5 and Note 4 over to patterns. I have an odd feeling I won't really miss the scanner. Who knows.

It does work. Mine actually works everytime because I paid attention to the way I registered my fingers. It's accurate. Your registered fingerprint don't change so the user must scan their finger the way they registered it. You do want it to be accurate right? If it wasn't accurate it would be no use to have the feature. Be patient and take your time. It's a swip, stop, scan than remove your finger after feeling the small vibration. My wife, son and mine work everytime. Good luck.

For my uses a pattern offers enough security and is ALWAYS recognized and 100% accurate. I don't have to hold my finger a certain way and complete the pattern at a certain speed etc., etc. I was wrong for expecting the fingerprint scanner to simply work like the one on my iPhone 5s did. That's my fault for having the wrong expectations.

I had a problem using it with skiplock, but knowing that wasn't going to be working with lollipop I killed it and now the scanner works perfectly. Love it.

I've found that unlocking the phone while driving is FAR easier and requires less attention using fingerprints than it is using a pattern or pin.

I try not to use my phone at all when driving, it is to much of a distraction.

It is amazing how many complain about the scanner, this thing is so simple it is absurd. Iphone's fingerprint scanner, if it is much easier it is probably much less secure.

Having used both finger print sensors on the iPhone 5s and Note 4, both of them work well.

The main differences are;

1. iPhone 5s allows you to unlock with your finger at any angle as it does not require a movement.
2. With the Note 4 you have to move your finger down over the sensor keeping your finger level.

Of the two I personally feel the iPhone's finger print sensor is better but no enough to give up my amazing Note 4.
