The title pretty much says it all. I have a Pixel 3, wife has a Pixel 3XL. Both work fine and on the latest Android release. So, do I upgrade now or wait until the Pixel 7 comes out in the fall and hope for a heavy discount on the Pixel 6s like I did last time around? I literally have no issues with our current phones. I just like to keep on top of new technology. Anyone made this upgrade and why?

If you don't mind not having security updates, you should be fine. I have a 3XL, and I've kept it as my side phone because it still gets unlimuted Google photos uploads.

BTW, the title should be perfectly working, not perfecting. Appreciate it if a MOD can edit that. I can't seem to.

Title edited.

If you're completely happy with your current phone, then I think you'll be fine going another year without upgrading.

Based on my Pixel 6 experience, I would wait for the 7. I wish I had.

The Pixel 6a should be coming out soon too, so that may be a more inexpensive but worthwhile upgrade for you both! The Pixel 7 should be coming up more and more in the next few months, so at least then, you can make a more informed decision about whether or not you'd get a 6 or 7!

Good luck, and let us know what you decide!

I have nothing but good things to say about my pixel 6. Been one of my best purchases. OP, give it a few more months if you are hoping to save some money.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit it, but I'm still using my pixel 3XL, and I have a brand new unopened Z Flip 3 that was supposed to replace it. It will eventually, but I REALLY like the pixel experience, and only picked up the Z Flip because it was on sale, and I wanted to try a folding phone to reduce the pocket strain. I will most definitely be getting another pixel... whether it's a 6 on sale or a 7 is still to be seen ;)

I would wait to see how much the 6 comes down in price, and also see what other info comes out about the 7 like Morty suggested. That's what I'm going to do :p

If it still received updates, I'd still be using my Pixel 2. I loved that phone. I had replaced the battery, but otherwise everything was great. I could have lived without OS updates, but I want the security updates.

I going to put Graphene or Lineage on it to experiment with them. See how a de-googled phone works.

I thought about doing that... but I'm going to use the 3XL with my Daydream headset I picked up to try out (it's the last Pixel, and possibly last recently made phone that will work with Daydream), and keep it as a swap in backup phone just in case ;)

Bit the bullet and just ordered the Pixel Pro and leather case with zero financing. I couldn't wait any longer. :)
