Hi, I am seem to notice the performances of HTC Thunderbolt suffering last few months. Now I have had two Thunderbolts my original TB I did notice the performance lacking until close to year. The performance issues are:
Sense and Apps crash (More than usual)
Performance slows down
Lag

Overall the general performance of the device is not as responsive. Now with all devices over time the devices general performance will drop but it seems my original TB's performance is suffering. Now I am on my second TB with same performance issues as my OG TB but in matter of couple months. I am running three new apps that I did not run on my OG TB accept pulse which is equivalent to google currents. Otherwise the only new apps I am running are the comic book apps.

What may be the issue?

My Second Thunderbolt is up to date as well stock.

Can the single core processor not keep up or is the 1GB or ram not enough.
On a daily bases I run google currents, play music, pandora and surf internet on steady flow through out the day and switch at times quite often back and forth FYI.

What options do I have is just the issues with old tech and will I have these issues with say GN or One X or S3 for example?

The GN has old dual core and the same 1GB of RAM
The ONE X has a new dual core and same 1GB of RAM
The S3 has new dual core but 2GB of RAM

I know these three devices are different kind of animals with many other factors in back ground effecting performance but I just want to stick with simply processor and memory as bases on performance on a device.

Had no issues with performance until the last OTA update. Now at times my TB becomes temperamental. Im stock not rooted, so the issues have to be from the Verizon update. Had this happen with the dink 1 with one of Verizon's updates. Now have the very slow data connections 1evo then wait. and cant install amazon or other aps most of the time. Can down load them but install doesn't work. More AP FC than ever before. These started right after last Verizon update. So I dont believe its the TB wearing out as with the Dink 1 after I worked the bugs out after Verizon update with HTC help it was still running strong up till 3 weeks ago when the ear speaker started to crap out . So I dont think the TB is that old or worn out yet.

Does it still have performance issues after you perform a restart? Does it happen when using certain apps? Did you notice the problems immediately after downloading the 3 new apps you mention? Are you using a live wallpaper? tons of widgets?

I don't think it's the Bolt going bad though, and I do think the Bolt has plenty in the tank to handle everything we can throw at it. However, it only has 768MB of RAM, not 1GB like the other phones you mention, but I still don't think that's the problem.

You could always try a factory reset if a simple restart doesn't solve the problems and the lag becomes too annoying to deal with. Just be sure to back up your essentials before you do it.

When I perform a restart(not a factory restart) the phone is the same.
No, I had the problem before three apps I have downloaded.
No, I am not using any live wallpaper.
I have the sense weather clock, sense calender, and sense weather widget.
The new update to google curents crashes alot but I say the problem is the app not the phone.

I would back-up your data and try a factory reset. I've done it a couple of times just to give my bolt a fresh start, and I'd swear it helps.
