Not sure what this is permission is for, the notification doesn't say anymore than something is asking for permission to use my gmail account or access it. It doesn't even ask for permission it just says that permission is requested without any options for yes or no, or ok, or nothing? I haven't seen a pattern like it pops up after I view a certain app or check a notification, but I'll get it at least once a day anymore. I know there were issues with Facebook requesting permission that got to be kind of annoying for some users, and while then I didn't use Facebook for anything, really at all, I have been a bit more lately. I've also started syncing games and other apps to my Facebook, again something I always avoided, so it could be something with that, but I think that notification said it was FB that was asking for permission. I tried some of the most popular fixes from that thread. The only fix I haven't tried is disabling the stock FB apps and downloading the one from the market. But I'm not even sure it is FB. One can anyone tell me how to figure out what is asking for permission? Two is anyone else having or had this issue that knows what it is? I suppose if you know the latter the former wouldn't be as important.

I didn't consider it but I tried it. The only thing that comes close to the things you're warning me about is Google Drive. Nothing has push nothing but Google is asking for permission, unless I'm looking at it wrong or not seeing the right thing.? I used add on awhile back for the red star push ads I got in the Inc. I haven't had any issues with this phone and push, of course I'm a little more discerning about what I install.

Hmmm... have any "get for free stuff you should paying for apps" installed, like free music apps (like MP3 Downloader type apps) they have a tendency to carry... ummm... questionable software and implementations?

Nope. No downloaders, no copiers, no stealers. The only thing that I have that I didn't research or download of my own accord is a cct app a friend of mine asked me to download do he could share his webcam with me. The purpose of that is over so I'll try uninstalling it. As I'm talking about it I'm trying to think if the two could be related? It's not immediately clear, but I also think it updated once while I've had it, so maybe.

This is probably happening during sync. Go into your Android sync settings and choose "Sync now" in the Google section. The "Request permission" message should pop up.

This appears to often be connected with the My Tracks application. If you are using it, go into the My Tracks settings and turn off the sync. Make sure to do it in the app, not the Android settings. After that, "Sync now" should no longer bring up the message. Now turn the sync back on in the My Tracks settings. It should ask you for an additional permission. Allow it and the problem will be fixed.

I had the same issue after flashing a new rom. The culprit was 'My Tracks', but I suppose it could be any google account enabled service. To work out what app was requesting permission, just long-press on the notification to get 'App info' dialogue, then choose it. I then uninstalled the app, then reinstalled it. That meant the process of requesting permissions on initial instal was re-executed.

Not sure which one it was but since I opened them all (all Google apps) it seems to have stopped. What i think triggered it was changing my passwords. After which I think the apps needed to be opened and updated once.
