Pet Peeve: Battery Full Notifications

Let me preface this by saying this is not unique to LG phones, but it is a pet peeve going back several years.

Why oh why do manufacturers think that alerting us overnight to let us know our battery is fully charged is a good thing? If one is not careful, it's easy to get woken up by the screen turning on or the phone vibrating or beeping just to let you know! Oh, and you get an "awesome" notification icon too!

Yes, sometimes you can disable the audible alert by ensuring system sounds are off, but that's not the default. There's also usually no way to disable the notification from appearing without root. Just do a search for "battery full notifications" and you'll find tons of posts dating back years asking how to disable this.

OK, I get that in theory you'll save a bit of power if you unplug after charging, or that it might be a bit better for your battery to not be trickle charged, but is it really worth it to popup this notifications every time? All I'm asking for is a toggle in the battery menu... Or a popup to never show this again when you swipe away the notification!

Seriously, manufacturers... Stop it!

It's not on the V20

You may be using Battery Notifier BT? If so, you can disable the sound notification.

Not using any battery apps or widgets

I get the alert on my H990N phone. That said, I have a T-Mobile one coming next week, and may just use that one instead.

(I can root the T-Mobile one if I really want to)

My LG V20 does not do this. I remember either my G5 or V10 did, and it had a setting to turn off. It probably saved those settings when i moved over to this phone.

Interesting. I don't see any options in the battery settings to disable it. Guess it's a quirk with the global version.

Not something my Verizon does, nor do I recall it happening on any prior phone (all Verizon versions).

Just to prove I'm not completely bonkers.......

You should double check your app list, because it looks like you do have a third party monitor. Look at your status bar.

That icon on the left isn't from the system. The system icons are on on the right. Figure out the source of that circled icon, and you'll likely find the source of the notification issue.

Actually, it's from the System UI process as the first screenshot shows. On previous LG and Samsung phones I've owbrd, that is where these notifications appear.

Weird. I've never seen a system notification on the right on my phones, at least not battery related.

Are their any main "Android System" notifications that appear? If so, this will affect that too, right?

At least on the V20 you can swipe to remove the notification, unlike my Samsungs I've had

For one you shouldn't be charging the phone overnight

That would drive me crazy. Do all V20s do this? My V10 (Verizon) certainly does not... and I have never had to change any settings to get it to behave this way.

From what I can tell now, it's just the global models that do this.
