So, Forgot to rename PG86IMG.ZIP after flashing a ROM - now im stuck in fastboot. Phone wont boot the ROM I tried to flash, but I cant get back to recovery now because each time I boot to fastboot it tries to flash the PG86IMG.ZIP and 'fails' then only lets me choose 'power' to reboot.

Anyway to get around this without a microsd card reader?

Any help would be very appreciated.

Traditionally the zip file is on your sdcard, isn't it? Why don't you just remove the sdcard and then boot the phone?

Problem with that is that it wont boot the rom, its stuck at the HTC screen because the ROM is the problem. So, trying to go back to recovery to flash back a nandroid or even another ROM, but cant get there.

If I remove the SD card it does let me boot to recovery, but since there is no SD card, thats as far as it gets :)

Try deleting the pg86img folder from your SD card. Find a OTA rezound rom, there are a few out there, download that zip file into your memory card. Probably going to be almost 1gb in file size. Then you have to boot up into recovery, flash either clockwork recovery or that other I forget how to say. Arun me or something like that, reboot phone into boot loader, factory rest phone. It will take you to either the clockwork screen or the Amon re screen. Then wipe data and install OTA.zip

Unfortunately, I think you're SOL. When my Thunderbolt was suffering similar issues, it would at least boot long enough for me to be able to connect via USB, which allowed me to remove the offending zip file, after which I could boot into recovery. Sounds like it's time for an investment in an sdcard reader.
