Does anyone know of any current phone that has both a stylus and ir blaster?
Something similar to a note but has an IR blaster.

Note 4? Not really current, but I think that was the last one with both.

That's the exact one I have now and I live in fear that something will happen to it.
The Note 4 is the best phone I've ever had.

Ah, another member recently was able to pick up some batteries at a great deal to keep it going strong. They're also in the $150-250 range on Swappa.

I bought a couple of Anker batteries a year or so ago and mine is still going strong...

I still use my Note 4 on WiFi (no sim) and I bought two new OEM batteries on eBay for about $11.99 each. They work just as good as the battery that came with the phone.

Anyways, I still use it for the IR blaster to control my phone and stereo. I also have a Note Edge. The IR blaster on the Note Edge seems to be more powerful or at least has a wider range.

it's a real shame. I need something to replace my aging Note 4 as well. I use the IR blaster every damn day.
I made a list of IR BLASTER devices sourced from wikipeida and GSM arena.

I have to check if any have a stylus

This also happens to be an excerpt from the list of "World's worst phones". Some are missing though. :p

I too need a recommendation. I love my note 4 b/c s-pen and ir blaster. If I forget the s-pen, is the LG v20 my only non-chinese option?

My LG V20 has an IR blaster and it works great. I will really miss that function when I trade it in for a Note 8. The V20 does not have a stylus unfortunately. My wife uses the LG Stylo 2 which does have a stylus that works quite well.

Does the LG stylo 2 have IR?
Not that I know of, but why specifically a stylus? Apart from the stylus on the Stylo being no different from any stylus on Amazon with the only difference being it slides into the phone, why not just get a phone with an IR blaster and buy a stylus? None of these phones are with a stylus even compares to an S Pen anyway, if that's what you were hoping. Samsung is part owner of WACOM, the tech that builds these types of screen and pen combo found on Notes and Microsoft Surface.

The problem is no flagship device in 2017 includes an ir blaster
Yeah. That's why I said just get any device with an IR that fills your other requirements. Adding a built in stylus just makes it harder to find one when buying an active stylus would get you closer to SPen experience than any built in stylus a non Note device will give you. I think V20 is the last flagship to have an IR. Get that, then buy an active stylus.

Ya.v20 was the one I could find.
