Hi all,

MY TV keeps having this stupid bug.
If I try to customize channels, it basically refreshes the menu and does not do it.
Although annoying, I can live with it.
The problem is that this happens even when I’m not customizing any channels.
I’m just looking at the apps I have and… bum, the TV decides to refresh the menu and I am at the TV initial page.
I change the source to an HDMI input (like PLaystation) and, around one minute after, … bam, back at the initial android menu.
Only if inside an app it does not happen.

As you can imagine, this is terrible. I tried a factory reset – same thing!
I tried re-slashing the latest software – I can’t, since it is the same software already installed (it has to be a new one)

What can I do?
Any help is appreciated.
Even just your sympathy is appreciated… 😊

Thank you so much in advance.

THis needs to be done in the Favorites List. THis is from the manual:-

only tune to the channels in that list when using 

I moved this from the Google TV forum to the Android TV forum, since Google TV is the old obsolete platform.

Hi Galactic Zoo,

Thank you for your reply, but I think I was misunderstood.
Maybe I'm not calling the things right.
What I'm having a problem with is the Android TV Oreo menu.
I'm not actually trying to customize anything, I'm hoping the TV stops refreshing the menu. I talked about customizing the channels because I believe that's what it is called in the menu (last button at the bottom) and where I saw the refreshing happening exactly like I have when the TV is idle. Yes, the TV refreshes the android menu when it is idle or when I change the source to any HDMI.

Now, I came home, (the kid) watched 20 minutes of Netflix and I turned it off (with the remote, so standby). I turned it on again and... I can't use it! It just refreshes the menu.
Now I have no TV!!! :O

You can see with your own eyes what I'm talking about here (link to a video on google drive)

HELP!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

Other than adding apps to favorites, I couldn't find any way of preserving the displayed apps, sorry.

Was this for me? I'm not sure how this is related to the issue.
I'm not trying to preserve any apps, so I'm not following. Sorry.

Sorry, I still didn't understand. I have re-read your post and it seems that you keep getting kicked back to the Android Menu. After all of that (thanks for your patience) the best suggestion I can make is to contact the retailer or manufacturer for support, sorry.

Exactly!
I'll try to re-install the TV once more and add one peripheral/option/app at a time and check if I can discover something that is causing any issue.
If not, I'll try support. I bought it online, so it will be tougher. :(

Thank you for your continuous prompt support ;)
