I've had my HTC One for a few months now and it just started acting weird for the first time last night. It will lock on the horizontal screen now even when the phone isn't sideways, it won't charge, the screen randomly turns on without me pressing anything, and it spontaneously opened a couple of apps. Why is my phone going nutty? :(

Im sorry to hear man. My HTC One is doing the same thing. I hoped that 4.3 would fix it. Starting it over did not work either. In 4.3 Im having more bugs, but my bluetooth for my car is working more often now. Still, after update this is at least partly from third party software- my phone is unusable. Overall, lets just say I am not happy in the least bit. I have been in safe mode now tonight, until I feel like dealing with it. You might try that too. Is it bad I've been thinking of how to end my HTC Ones "life?" Do I need therapy??? :)

Don't therapy but you do need a good hammer :)

I haven't experienced this type of bugs that you all are describing. But there are bugs in 4.3 that are really annoying and should be fixed in a hopefully soon to be released update.

1. Contacts disappearing/reappearing in messaging app.

2. Screen going black after selecting a contact to call.

3. Screen staying black after pulling it away from your face.

4. Home button not as sensitive as it used to be...takes more taps to get it to respond.

These are just a few that I have encountered. And yes, I have done a FULL factory reset along with clearing cache. I'm sure others have more bugs and some less but in all honesty.....there are bugs.

I'm not sure if those are hardware or software bugs, but I had the same thing on 4.1.2. The only way that I could charge my phone was after doing a soft reset and plugging the phone in after I turned it off. It wouldn't charge when it was powered on. The landscape issue went away after a factory reset but all other symptoms remained. I got my phone replaced two months ago by taking it into a Sprint store. They told me that insurance would have covered it (which I had) but that it was also covered by warranty. I'm not sure which provider you use, but Sprint considered it a device malfunction and replaced it at no cost.

I don't have any of these problems.

Mines not acting buggy, but I've had some serious distortion from the top speaker when my volume is above 50%. I'm super irritated cause I bought the phone for the speakers and the better sound, other things too, but the front facing speakers were a serious selling point for me. Anyone else having this issue, or heard of it? SEEMS to have started after the update, but I can't be sure. Could be I'm just noticing it.
