Phone always connecting as Portable Device

I have xperia SL and it has no sd card option only with internal 32 GB storage. So whenever I connect my device to pc or laptop it always connected as portable device and not as usb storage device. If I transfer large files from pc to phone it takes long time to copy. But it is not with USB storage device with my previous phone xperia mini pro. Is there is a possible way to make connection as usb storage...?

Check that you have the appropriate drivers installed when connecting to the computer.

If that doesn't work and you want a better solution, give Wifi Explorer a shot. You'll be able to connect on your home network through wifi and transfer files with quickly.
