Phone and screen gets very hot while charging using stock charger

A few concerns about my Nexus 6. It usually gets warm while charging using the stock charger. And I take it as usual.

For the past few days, I've noticed the phone discharge battery very fast. I get only around 3 hrs of SOT. Used to get 4.5 hrs till 4 days back. Today when I touched the phone while charging it, it was too hot to touch and even the screen was hot. I took it off the charger and switched the phone off.

Is there something to be concerned about here? Is there anything that I can check on the phone? Been running stock Marshmallow, an update I received OTA.

Show us some battery stats to see if we can pinpoint what's causing the faster drain:

Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

If there's nothing unusual, I'd wonder if the battery is starting to fail (which can lead to faster discharge and excess heat while charging).

I shall list the battery stats later in the day. The drain and ok today. Switched launcher to Google launcher from Nova just for today.

The other party of the question... Has anyone experienced their phone and screen get too hot while charging? So hot that it gets very difficult to touch the screen

Screenshots attached. Any solutions for the battery heating issue?

Yeah. Realized that. Battery concern is not my real issue. The phone and screen heating up while charging is my main problem

But a battery that overheats while charging could also be failing, which could lead to faster drain, so it may still be helpful to see if there's anything else to explain the faster battery drain.
