Phone app gone from lock screen

Not sure what happened or where it went but the phone icon is gone from my lock screen. My other quick access apps are still there but the phone is gone. When I go to the settings menu where you can customize whats in those spots I dont see a phone app. Anyone give me a hand?

Just so everyone knows, I did do a hard reset before even reading this and it fixed it BUT if just disappears again.

Lockscreen Phone Icon Missing

When i went to customize the lockscreen (by switching the stock mail to Gmail), I lost the phone icon. I searched the "all apps" section but it doesn't show up. Now I have an empty slot in my lockscreen and can't put the phone icon!

this has been posted several times since the update. do a factory data reset and you should have it back. The update screwed up that setting. Hope it helps.

Factory reset as In completely reset the phone? Won't you lose everything?

yes but keep in mind there is really no fix for it, when you do a hard reset the phone icon is there and the second you make a change to the lock screen again like changing Mail to Gmail, it will disappear again

I know it's not a real fix, but I downloaded touchpal dialer from the market. I had used it on a previous phone and it is a very good dialer replacement. Once you have it installed, you can go into the settings for the lock screen and add it to the button that used to be for the dialer. That is what I am using now.

sweet thanks, I never used touchpal before but I know one thing I hate about sense is the whole dialer and touchpal looks awesome, I will just keep it. This bug turned out to be a good thing to me.

Have your phone check for updates. There is a new update that came out that fixes the lockscreen issue that was caused by another update. After it's installed, restart your phone.

I got my dialer back. It was not showing up if I use the weather lockscreen, but if I use the wallpaper lockscreen it works. Now its working with the weather lockscreen. What I did was try to rearrange the apps on the LS and that didnt work with the weather so I did a reboot and its been fine ever since
