I have a galaxy s4, the phone dies pretty quickly , like i can only use it (with screen on) for only 2-3 hours and when it's on idle for only 6 hours. This has been a problem for weeks, before that problem , i could use the phone for around 6-8 hours ( with screen on) and up to 18 hours when it's on stand by. My battery usage has been the same , the battery usage shows normal usage as you see. Also the phone dies suddenly when it's between 10-20% and i hate it and i can't turn it back on until i charge it, i though i had somekind of a virus so i factory reset the phone and i updated it to lolipop but still it drains quickly. Also when it shows 100% fully charged and i plugged it out of the charger , it drops to 88 , 90 , 92 , 99 in just a second. Should i buy a new battery or what?

Hi Fadi, welcome to the forums! Those could be signs of a bad battery. Is it very old?

That's not very much but batteries can be faulty sometimes and their life will always depend on your usage and charging / discharging habits. I'd say that if a new battery is easily available and you can afford it without problem then buy one.

If the problem persists report back here and we'll try fix the problem. And having an spare battery is always very handy :)

I checked the battery and i definitely need a new one because the current one is swollen, thank you for your assistance
