Phone call came in while in airplane mode

I've had my EVO for several months, but never tried Airplane mode. The other day I was in a meeting where I could not be interrupted, and I was having poor signal reception anyway. So, I tried putting the phone in Airplane mode. It showed me the little airplane icon & I figured I was good.

Then my phone rang. A call came through -- I could see the caller i.d., and I had to reject the call.

Did I misunderstand Airplane mode? I thought it turned all radios off. So how does a call get through?

If the call came through right after you entered airplane mode, I would suspect the call was received by your phone before the radio was disabled and was displayed on your phone even though your phone subsequently displayed the airplane icon. If there was a significant period of time (a few minutes) between the time you entered airplane mode and the call was received, It's time to call the folks at the TV show 'Fringe' to come investigate this.

It was 15 - 20 minutes later, or more. So, a fluke occurrence, eh?

They say some people have a natural effect on technology . . . people who wear a wristwatch and make run fast, or something like that. I've always suspected I have a genetic malady that causes electronics in my possession to display errors, crashes, and bugs that were previously unknown. Perhaps . . . .
