Phone charger

Over the weekend, my phone battery was running very low and I needed to get it charged. I found a charging kiosk, but it only had two small USB type chargers that I thought might be for iPhones since they didn't fit the charging port for galaxy s8. There was also a larger flat connector that would seem to fit an iPad or something similar.

I wanted to find out if there was perhaps an adapter that could take USB-C for the galaxy phone and convert it to the smaller iPhone type charger. Does something like that exist?

First, let's get some terminology straight, so you can effectively find what you're looking for.

The "small USB type chargers" were probably MicroUSB, most Android phones until the last year or 2 used this plug, it is NOT used on iPhones.
The "larger flat connector" is likely the Lightning connector that iOS devices since the iPhone 5(?) came out.

What you would need would be a Micro-USB to USB-C adapter, but you need to be careful with those. I would look at ones from this list - https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1wJwqv3rTNmORXz-XJsQaXK1dl8I91V4-eP_sfNVNzbA/edit#gid=0

Side note - I avoid those kiosks whenever possible. If I'm going on a day trip where I'll be away from my own wall chargers for much of the day I'll bring a 5,000 mAh battery pack with me. It's very pocketable, relatively cheap and I know for a FACT that there's nothing nefarious between my phone and the power source. For longer stints away from a known wall charger, I have a 16,000 mAh pack. I have a properly-built USB-A to USB-C cable in the pouch with each battery.

Thanks for the correction on the terminology. I have to admit that I didn't give any consideration regarding potential issues with the charging kiosks. I'll take a look at the list provided but will also look into a portable battery pack.

Yeah I have a small Keychain micro to USB c connector I always keep on me. It's ridiculous how slow the industry is when it comes to anything not Apple related.

I actually talked with a guy who works for one of the charging kiosks a month ago. Asked him about usb c. He had no idea what it even was. I've had usb c in my phones for the past 2.5 years....
