Phone Clone Strange Behavior

The inevitable happened and I dropped my phone while standing in the back of my pickup. It fell about 8 feet, landed on its back and the back shattered, in a case. Ordered my replacement and used Phone Clone to migrate everything which seems to have worked. My contacts are all there, my call list is as normal, showing me my entire history with callers names. My messaging app is a different story... All 22,000+ text messages transfered over but when I open up the app, it doesn't show the names, just the phone numbers. If I click on a message, the circle shows the person's initial and when I click on that it shows their contact information. So how do I get my phone to show the name instead of the phone number? Even when I receive new texts, it still doesn't show the name.

See under accounts in settings if sync is on. Go into all the menus .

That didn't work, but I did find this thread: https://forums.androidcentral.com/ask-question/907101-contact-names-not-showing-up-messages.html and got it to work. Went to Google Play, found Messages, uninstall (it didn't uninstall but removed some update) and now the names are showing. I wonder if it had something to do with the Beta that I installed. Fixed now.

Yep pretty sure that was the cause.

You should use their Hisuite software instead of the phone clone app it literally copies everything. You need to install it onto your computer first then it'll prompt you to open Hisuite app.

Something similar happened to me once. It was my region setting within device that was set to UK, so all my USA call list numbers history didn't show up correctly due to the number formatting .
