Phone doesn't respond to power button presses

Last night it worked. Today it doesn't respond. The fingerprint sensor still works. I can't reboot or turn the phone off by pushing the button.

Anything I can do? I can't afford to buy a new phone right now.

Did you pull battery and restart to see what happens?

I did a power+vol down reboot and it seems to be working now. First time this has happened to me, so rather panic inducing.

Battery pull fixes this. Must be a software issue.

This happens on occasion, and yes a battery pull can work. Usually pressing the power and volume down (or power plus both volume buttons, I'm not sure) will free up whatever bug is causing this without having to pull the battery or reboot the phone.
