Phone drains within 10 minutes

I just returned from Afghanistan. I had my Droid X2 with me as a MP3 Player as I suspended my service while gone. Just arrived to the USA on July 3rd. I reactivated my phone. Ever since I did this, my phone is ok and lasts if I am only texting people saying I am home or calling. Once I start using my Internet on my phone is drains from full charge down to 20% within 5 mins. I have went into settings under Running apps and stopped them, and also went under the tab for all apps and force closed. Then after a full charge, went onto using the internet, battery drains.

Is my battery done? It does not drain when texting so I am thinking there might be something wrong with my data. What can i check to make sure i have everything correct. I will not be home for about 2 weeks, so I am hoping maybe someone can help me.

IMHO, the battery in the X2 is notorious for having a short shelf life. I've seen posts all across the interwebz upset over the battery suddenly degrading significantly after a year of use from X2 users. You are getting better life with SMS/MP3 player, etc.. because it doesn't require as much power as your 3G radio for data.

I have no idea how much batteries cost for the X2 these days, but I'd imagine they're pretty cheap.

I agree with DenverRalphy, it's the battery that needs to be replaced.

Let us know if you get it replaced and have better luck with improved battery life.

Battery does not look deformed and all seals are in good shape. Yes, I can text to everyone and does not seem to affect the battery life. Its once I start using data is when the drain happens. Someone here at the base i am at suggested hard reset....I am going to try that, and if that does not, I will see if I can grab a cheap batter and will let you all know if that is the issue
