Phone freezes CPU stays at 100% usage.

OK does anyone have any ideas?
I am on reborn 2.2.2 with retouch theme.
My phone will lock up,?? CPU will be at 100% usage. Even though I am not using any Apps and everything turned off. (GPS, sync, data ect.) I can not seem to fine what process is locking up. I tried reflashing reborn 2.2.2(after complete wipe), I was on reborn 2.2.4.(not a nandroid restore) I am only oc'd at the 748 kernel setting. But a lot of the times when it locks up the CPU speed is not Even maxed at the 748mhz.
Any ideas would be great.

See if you have the same issue with another rom.... Make sure to wipe everything.

Wait. as I was typing the above, something came to mind. Try again with reborn but this time, clear everything in recovery first (including the dalvik cache under advanced) then flash this:
http://db.tt/SI1Vwx2

then flash everything as you normally would. ie reborn, theme, etc...

custom recovery doesn't properly clear the system data when wiping. this file properly clears the data that can cause issues sometimes. this could be your issue or it could be something else, but I would start with this.

Thanks for the zip file, I tried it when I got home from work and so far it seems to work good now, No lag or freeze ups.

Well this did not fix the problem. It made is half way better, instead of freezing at 100% it would do it at 50% aroundish.

I ended up installing Drew's CM7 (since the bluetooth is fixed) and it kicks A$$!!! when my phone is sitting idle my not playing with the cpu drops all the way down to 6%-26%! This is a great rom! Plus I like the 1GB of internal storage(memory)!

Hmm, I swore the other night I read one of those new ROMs boasted auto wipe on flash... Clean ROM, sROM, something like that. Now those first posts no longer make mention of it in the steps.
