Phone goes to lock screen during use

I have an Alcatel OneTouch and it recently started going to the lock screen while I'm using it. Usually after I hold my finger on the screen for a second or two. I'm not sure what to do about this

Hi, did this just recently happen? have you downloaded any apps recently that could be causing this? try booting your phone in to safe mode, that way you can determine if the issue is caused by an app you have downloaded.

I booted it and it told me I had low memory. I deleted some things then booted it again and so far so good. I'll add more if the problem returns.
