Hi all.

My charger port on my Evo is broken and will not charge anymore, Sprint said they would replace it with a brand new phone, which is great.

Currently I'm running Fresh 4.1.1.0, Software 4.22.651.2.

I rooted my phone about a year ago a couple weeks after it came out, It was relatively simple process, What I am wondering is, will the new phone be able to be rooted again easily? I was thinking I can do a nand backup on my sd card before I bring the phone to sprint, then when they give me the new phone I was hoping I can root it and then do a nand restore and have my phone back to the way it was.

To me this seems the simplest, please let me know if there is a better way or if I am missing something.
Thanks

As long as they have have not started shipping the Evo's out with gingerbread it should be no different than when you rooted your phone the first time. Also you can restore your backup on your new.phone once rooted.

Bad news. For the past couple days the exchanges I been getting are coming from the warehouse with 2.3. The only chance of a 2.2 Evo is NIB or an exchange that escaped being updates. Sorry.

Man, that sucks. I'm getting the Evo 3d when it comes out so I'll be in the same boat there. Well I'll probably just take the new phone from Sprint and hope for the best.
